“This morning my mother screamed so much that I burst into pieces”, says the little penguin. His head flies into outer space, his body falls into the ocean, his wings get lost in the jungle, his beak lands in the mountains and his bum ends up in the city. Only his feet are left, and now they’ve got to run around searching for the rest of him. On their journey through the world, the body parts have fantastical adventures. And through it all, there is a protective hand that swoops in to help when things get tough – and gently pieces everything back together. “Sorry”, says the screaming mother.
Based on the picture book by Jutta Bauer, Theater Marabu brings this little story with a big impact to the stage for the first time. It is performed by three actors with the aid of light and shadow play, sounds and music. The result is a poetic and visual work of object theatre that makes the whole world its stage.
